Bored with being at home the ginger tabby cat had taken a walk, sticking to the higher places as much as possible so that he hardly spent any time at all at ground level. This city was crawling with dogs, he had to watch out. He took some time to pester some rabbits in a hutch in the back garden of some house but that had gotten pretty boring after a wile. Then he had gone to the home of a big black female doberman to pass some time. She was tied up int he middle of her lawn so Toffee had made a little game of running around the fence and getting her to chase him, round and round and round so that her leash tied around the tree she was tethered to int he center of the lawn. When the dog had about two foot of leash left Toffee bared his teeth in a grin, feeling pretty happy with himself now that the dog had become a prisoner of her own stupidity. True she would most likely run back around the other way as soon as he was gone but at the moment she was just trying to pull free and barking at him. stupid
"Well gotta fly, seeya around"
He winked at the dog and ran off over the garage and along the wall of the front lawn then over into the neighbors garden. Out though there gate onto the street. He then made his way to the park. Some uprights were having picnic food on the grass. Great! He headed over, purring and mewing in his cute high pitched voice, asking to be fed. He wasn't even that hungry. The little female upright gave him the filling of her ham sandwich, but first she called him 'kitty' and just had to pat him on the head a few times. It was worth it though, he had ham now. As soon as he was given the food he darted off and up a tall tree, laying on a branch he licked at the meat, purring to himself.

The large, overly fluffy dog strode through the park with a twitching tail. Normally, he would look fluffy and cuddly but right now, he was wet and sopping, water dripping off of his coat on all sides. Some stinking human cub thought it'd be funny to drop a good sized bucket of water on him. Sure, the human had enjoyed the look of the soaked chow chow as it sat there seemingly helplessly, that is until the dog lept up and nearly scared the kid from the tree branch he was perched upon. He should've stayed there, whizzed on the tree a little or something but, instead, the brute had moved on, a very miffed look on his face and a grumble in his voice. He hated humans with a reckless abandon...
Approaching what looked like a cute little family picnic, the chow didn't even pause to look at the hairless monkeys. Instead, he made a move to walk around them. But the sight of a less-than-happy canine of his size sent them running screaming anyway. In their haste, most of the food was left on the now abandoned blanket they had been sitting on. Corners of a pale muzzle shifted upward in a sly grin. Now that was more like it. Striding over cautiously, the chow gave the set up a few tentative sniffs to be sure it wasn't some clever trap before devouring the sandwiches the humans had originally been eating, almost entirely oblivious to the cat above him....

Black Moon sat in a freshly-dug hole, cooling himself in the shade of a bush. His tar-black coat soaked up the sun like a sponge soaks up water. The bru was happily chomping on a large bluebird. True, this was no meal, but made a tasty snack. The stupid avian was pecking at some grub in the dirt... the Belgian had easily snatched it in his jaws, breaking its neck and stunning the bird instantly. "Sorry, mate." The black prince called to the dead bird in his mouth. "Life sucks that way."
Deep blue and black-ish feathers littered the ground around the paws of the large brute. A skull was the only remaining actual body-part of the bluebird. Black Moon belched, stench clung on his breath. His ocean-blues scanned the park, searching for something to do other than lay low in the damp hole. The prince spotted a sticky-looking dog that was apparently wet. A tabby was hiding in a tree, licking on something that smelled of the deli he visited often. A few other dog scents filled his nares, but made nothing of them. This was New York! He had yet to meet a threatening dog.
Lifting his lean body up off the ground, he shook his pelt. Dirt clumps flew off the black fur, landing in the nearby bushes. Looking in the distance, Black Moon saw many families eating on the ground, snacking on salty chips and meaty sandwiches. Other humans were sitting on benches, staring at eachothers eyes, making kissing sounds. "So nasty," he said aloud. "Dogs aren't even that gross!"
Deciding what he was going to do, Black Moon stretched for a brief moment, and howled out along the grounds. His mighty paws hit the ground slowly at first, then increased speed as the families got nearer. "HAHAHA! Suckers!" his booming voice startled all the adult two-leggeds, and scared the daylights out of the helpless children. The Belgian laughed heartily as he darted the bread being thrown at him, as well as the swats of the male humans. The tar-black fur sped around all of the families on the grounds, scaring them away from their food. Some managed to grab their meal up before Black Moon could get near enough to bite them.
After many of the humans had left, several food items were on the ground. Swiping long subs and huge hot dogs into his mouth, Black Moon jumped around, his banner swishing in the air. He was so very proud of himself, he barked and howled to the Heavens.
Prancing over to the tree the Tabby was in, he barked up to the feline. "I won't eat you, so calm down. But, you looked a bit on the thin side. I'll protect you from the other canine if you would feel so inclined to come down and have a bite."

The cat rolled his eyes at the black furred dog, why they had to be so noisy he would never know. Did the gormless mutt really think that he needed his help to get food? Or was this the dogs idea of a trap. Either way, no he wasn't coming down until he felt like it. Not a moment sooner.
"Do you think I'm stupid?"
The orange tabby purred, baring his teeth in a grin. He then stood, arching his back and paced up and down the branch he was standing on, one foot in front of the other. Done with the ham now, he wasn't at all hungry, he wasn't a stray. His uprights fed him, that was the only real reason he chose to stay with them. He did kind of fancy some more ham though, that stuff was a lot nicer then the cat food his humans gave him most nights. Sitting down again his tail twitched back and forth. He yawned then locked his nose, laying down on the branch looking between the two dogs.

Black Moon barked at the tabby cat. "Truly indeed you are a sly cat, not stupid at all." The Belgian planned out his words carefully in his mind. "As said earlier, I have no want to eat you. I find felines distasteful, in both language and texture." This wasn't entirely what the black dog had meant, but he laughed at it anyway. "Its not that I don't find felines such as yourself fun to talk to. On my travels, I have always gotten my tips from longhaired and shorthaired.... and hairless cats, as well. You are definatly an intelligent cat. Mind teaching me a few tricks in trade for," he paused for dramatic effects. "Some more ham?"
Sitting on his haunches, Black Moon stared up at the tabby. He didn't really wait for the tabby cat to respond. "What is your name, feline?"

Oh he liked that, complements from a dog, well so long as he didn't expect any back Toffee was just fine with it. It wouldn't get him out of the tree but still, he liked being told he was sly and intelligent all the same. He even let out a loud purr, amused by the dogs words. He believed the dog, it wouldn't eat him, not wile it had all that food around it, there was no point. But dogs like to chase things. Nope, he would stay right here in this tree.
"Flattery will get you no were"
He told the dog with a nod, licking the back of one of his furry white paws and using it to rub his ear and face. He was pretending to be bored but quite obviously wasn't. His eyes were soon back on the black haired dog.
"If i wanted more ham i would get it, i don't need to be making bargains for it with you"
He then took a few seconds to lick at the fur on his chest. Once he was satisfied with his chest hair he answered the dogs question.
"My uprights call me Toffee, and you?"

Zeus managed to give a glance up curiously, looking mostly at the ebony canine with much suspicion. He was flattering the cat like it was a gorgeous bitch. What was in this brute's head? Liver and onions? What good comes from fancying such a pathetic animal? Not that the chow would ever eat the feline. First he'd have to catch it, then he'd have to pluck it's fur to prevent hairballs and so on. Too much work for the lazy brute. But that didn't mean he approved of blatantly running around flattering the creature. Maybe he was trying to trick the creature but it wasn't working very well..
"I do not appreciate being ignored..."
The chow's voice was commanding and low-pitched but sounded less than interested...

Black Moon was still sitting on his rear, gazing up at the tabby cat. The Belgian hadn't forgotten about the wet dog to his left, but ignored him. The cat purred loudly, and laughter bounced around in the black dogs chest. "Flattery will get you nowhere." the feline had stated.
Easing up a bit, his erect years pulled back a little, the bru called to the cat. "Oh, not flattery. Trust me, I've never shown that to any creature, save for my Visa." Upon saying the name Visa, the tough dog seemed to weaken a bit. He gained composure quickly. The feline said his name was Toffe. Oh so original. the black brute told himself. Its like naming a dog Fido.
The white dog was becoming impatient. "I do not appreciate being ignored." His words stung the air. The black dome of the Belgian turned toward the Chow, his ocean-blues focusing on the eyes of the creature before him. As if reading the white bru's mind, Black Moon addressed him.
"As long as you swear on all that is doggly, you won't attack this feline. Just because they are of different species doesn't mean we can't live together in peace. Most dogs, street dogs especially, have learned their intelligence from these creatures."
Taking a breath, the tar-black dog looked back up at the feline on the branch. "My name is Black Moon. Cursed, blessed... whichever you choose."

No Toffee wasn't the most interesting name in the world for a ginger cat, it could be worse. Thats what happens though when you are named as a kitten by a 6 year old boy. It could have been worse, he could have ended up as 'kitty' or 'ginger'.
"Yes I'm sure you wooflers learn so much from us cats! Does how to chase something down and kill it count?"
He still had a stupid kitty grin on his furry face, this was all to funny. Next this dog would be telling him that he could also live in peace with the rabbits next door and those field mice at the bottom of his garden. Shame the wet dog had butted in though, he was quite enjoying being complemented, it was pretty damn great. Now he no longer had the dogs full attention. He turned his hazel eyes on the white dog then, the one that to him looked as though he just fell in a lake.
"What do you think? Wanna live in peace n all that?"
He crouched down the jumped onto a lower branch, still nice and safe, out of reach from the dogs on the ground, but still a little closer. His tail twitching back and forth as his eyes moved between the two. He no longer thought that this Black Moon dog was up to something. No now Toffee just thought him a bit... welll... weird.

The chow chow crinkled his nose in disgust, giving both of them a look that said "You're both out of your minds". What game was this black dog playing? It wasn't a surprise that he'd rather not eat the cat, but to sit there and complement it to the point alpha male would call swooning? It personally made him want to hurl. Grunting to himself loudly, dark amber gaze shifted from the feline in the tree to the dog on the ground and back again...
"I do not promise anything. I do nothing "in peace" except sleep. I do, however, live with others in mutual understanding. So long as no one attacks me, no one shall be assaulted in return..."
Questioning glance paused on the ebon brute on the turf with him.
"Zeus, master of the northern junkyard. It's a pleasure, I suppose..."
