"Oh very much sir."He said."I will give my life to protect your family at any cost."He said smiling. He would devote his life to protecting his alphas family. He would never leave.

Grinning, the chow chow nodded. This was a good brute, obviously devoted and loyal. He needed more members like him. Looking over his shoulder momentarily at the pup behind him, the grin turned into a momentary scowl. But it was lifted soon enough as dark gaze was redirected toward the dane.
"So, my good brute. Tell me your name."

The grin grew wider on the chow's face. Lord... He liked the sound of that. Following the brute, Chance's lead, he sat down as well, his own curled tail waving slowly.
"Ah yes. A fine name... And I am Zeus."
Pausing, the chow patted the ground beside him with one paw. The young brute behind him immediately filled the spot, sitting down obidiently without a word.
"And I'm sure you've already met my son, Balthazar."
The pup nodded skittishly, avoiding eye contact with anything...

The chow raised both eyebrows at the mention of the orange pup, his heart leaping to his throat. Anytime anyone mentioned that little menice he called a son, he got nervous. One of these days, that pup was going to kill the wrong dog and he'd have to pay the price. However, this seemed to have no effect on the dane, luckily.
"Ah, yes... That was Derringer. He is to be next in line for the Alpha position. I'd try to avoid him if I were you..."
((Sorry that took so long. i had to find a bike chain for my neighbor...))

The chow chuckled lightly at the dane's observation. No one had ever said that to him before, though one could easily see it true.
"Well of course he does. He is my son, after all. But I see your point. This one looks more like his mother than anything and most of my other pups look only vaguely chow. But Derringer is most like me I suppose, hence his undying determination and his stubborn personality."

Balthazar held in a sigh as he listened to the adult chat amongst themselves. Boring as hell, but he knew better than to simply get up and walk away when it was his father that had beckoned him here. But he dare not interrupt as well. So, silently he sat, his gaze down and his floppy ears listening for any reference to him...
The chow nodded cheerfully to the dane, his own smile on his own face. This was a kind brute indeed, an excellent find and the perfect pack member. Getting to his feet with a very satsified expression on his face, the chow began to move past the brute, pausing to mention as to where he was off to.
"Well then, welcome to the pack my friend. Now, I'm off on my daily marks. keep an eye the young one, would you?"

Balthazar watched his father trott off, regarding the dane with a momentary glance before looking back to the ground.
"Yeah... sure..."

Getting slowly to his feet, the young brute followed to much taller dane slowly, his bi-colored gaze plastered on the back of the creature's tan head...
