Snapping his eyes open suddenly, the malamute was surprised to find the female swimming across the river again. He suddenly could barely hear the voices, they were distant now as his crimson gaze followed her form across the water. Clumsily, he struggled to his feet, desperation in his watery eyes and soft sobs still coming from his chest. he didn't want to be alone, not with these voices. They'd drive him to suicide, he knew they would... but he didn't want to die...
"No... come back..."
His normally booming voice was pathetic and hoarse at this point, barely audible to his own ears..
"Don't leave me alone..."
Now look what you've done?
Ignoring them still, the malamute trudged slowly into the water, swimming slowly across the river...
What i've done? You're the one that was doing all that yelling.

Desiree was having trouble with understanding what had happened and didn't hear Magnum crossed the river after her. She kept her paws on her head.

Dragging himself up onto the other bank, the malamute stood on shaky legs, his eyes puffy from crying and his tail still hanging between his legs. He felt so vulnerable right now and would rather not be alone. Hell, he'd stay with a human if that;s what it took to be in another's company. Almost as if on cue, a heavy drop of water landed on his braod muzzle. Looking up, crimson gaze met with overcasted skies and falling rain. It was raining...
Looking back down at the collie, Magnum walked toward her skiddishly, slowly. he felt like the voices were behind him, following him.
Mag, come on buddy. I'm telling you, she'll love me...
And I'm telling you to use your better judgment. please listen to the voice of reason my friend...
Nonsense. I am the voice of reason, you know that...
At that moment a clap of thunder loud enough to shake the bridge above the two shook the malamute to his core, starling him the rest of the distance to his border collie friend. He cowered beside her, as close as he could possibly be to her, still whimpering like a scared puppy...

At the clap of thunder she flung her head up to see Magnum cowering on her side. She lickd him head. It's ok Magnum.

The soft pitter patter of the soft rain picked up slowly until it was a gentle roar, soaking both forms to the bone ins seconds. But that was that last thing on the unstable malamute's mind... Actually, there wasn't much on his mind at this point. With his eyes to the sky, he saw the rain. With his ears perked, he listened to it fall and to the female beside him. He felt her leaning against him... or vice versa. The voices were nowhere to be heard or seen.... Sighing softly, the brute seemed to gather himself again, not to the point of saying anything but he seemed sane once more, if a little wet...

She sighed as the rain fell on her, it felt quite good. She started to lick Magnums fur. She wanted to comfort both of them. It's ok she said to both him and herself.

Feeling her tongue through his fur, the malamute sighed again, laying his head upon her paws as they lay side by side in the rain. Well, that had been a fun event. As always, it had resulted in someone running away from him, someone hating him of course. There was simply nothing like about the other side of him.. and that was enough to make others hate this side of him as well... They should. The other side of him was dangerous...

She was feeling a spark of joy inside her, was it possible that she liked this dig that heard things, well he was cute. She pushed closer to him and wagged her tail slowly. She licked his face.

Inhaling slowly, the brute let it all out in a soft yet exasperated sigh, his gaze staring blankly across the river. With his tail waving slowly in the wet atmosphere, Magnum closed his eyes slowly, letting Feli's soft licking carry away any leftover thoughts or problems. It seemed to cleanse his mind, lifting them right off his fur and washing them away in the rain.

Finally feeling the effects of the very stressfull day he'd had, the malamute found his eyelids drooping as well. With the boder collie's warmth beside him and her gentle voice in his ears, he was reduced to a snoring ball of fuzz soon enough...

She opened her eyes to see the rain had stopped and the sun was coming up. Magnums wet warmth under her neck and some of her back was a sign that he had not left. She slowly backed off him and stood up to stretch. She let out a long sigh, shook her fur out and trotted off to find some food. She was back half an hour later with a hambuger and a large half eaten taco. She took the taco for herself and left the much bigger hamberger for Magnum.

Magnum slept in a bit. His little mental battle had drained him almost completely, as it usually did. So, he needed some serious sleep. Even when the warmth of the border collie was gone, the malamute simply rolled over into its place. He was a pretty heavy sleeper. An F-5 Tornado could rip through the city right that moment and the brute would simply snore away. But if there was anything that could wake him up, it was the scent of food. Still, it was about 20 minutes after the collie had returned that he finally let himself awaken...
Rolling over once again, Magnum offered a soft and very sleepy grin in Feli's direction.
"Mornin'. Sleep well?"

Feli smiled when Magnum woke up. Yes very well, and what about you? You sounded like an eight car pile up! she joked. She pushed the burger towards him and licked his nose.

The brute smiled warmly, his crimson gaze eying the burger curiously. He wasn't trying to decide whether or not to eat it, it was more as to whether or not he wanted to get up at the moment. He wasn't insanely hungry at the moment so Magnum remained where he lay, his head against the soft muddy bank, even as he laughed aloud.
"Me mum used ta' say that all the time! But yea', I slep' fine... if a lil' wet."
