A cool breeze swept its way across the GWB, as most locals called it. At least, the ones on two legs. The four-leggers called it "the white bridge" as that pretty much was what it was. It was one of many in the city but the Ibizan hound's favorite this time of evening. Twilight was a magical period in the day, when everything seemed to go from light to dark, from heaven to hell, from black to white. Desaturated grey optics turned up to the tall supports for the bridge, watching the little white lights turn on all along its lengths. Hence the bridge name, he supposed.
Sighing, the brute's thoughts returned to the original question: What if he were to die here? Every other time he'd tried, he'd failed. There was always some clueless idiot to come in and save him, only to drop him some place more Hell-ish. Why couldn't others just let it all end? What was it about him that everyone thought was so important? He was a failure, a pathetic excuse for a dog, a waste of good flesh and fur. Hell, at this point, he was just fur really. His flesh had long since died away, eaten hungrily by his body in absence of food. Now, he had nothing left. He was again in a position of loneliness. There was no one there, anywhere. There never had been... But now, there was finally no one there to stop him.
Uttering a small grin, his first genuine smile since he was young, silver gaze shifted to the setting sun one final time, the light from it reflecting off the trail of moisture making its way down his slender face. Then, without a sound and with a drop of the grin, the brute stood smoothly, trotting over to the roadside. Cars whizzed passed his snout, blowing the wind through his short pelt. Sighing one last time, the brute lifted a paw slowly and was about to move onto the the street....

The hound was forced to stop in his tracks as a seemingly careless collie darted across the busy bridge, stopping traffic and destroying his chance to be free. Grumbling in irritation, the bru turned to her, a stern look in his watery eyes.
"What the heck is the matter with you? You could've gotten yourself killed!"
Yeah, because he was one to talk. He was about to do just that, get himself killed.. but he deserved it. He caused all the creatures around him nothing but pain and suffering. This collie was too... well, she was too something and whatever it was, it made her worthy of living. Sobek had nothing that would give his life meaning. It was far too late for that. But with the cars stopped, he'd have to find another way to end it all...

Being the observing dog he was, Black Moon always watched the creatures around before darting in. He would find a secluded, quiet place and watch all the action. Normally, there was a fight or some idiot dog or bitch trying to steal food. Today, however, he was simply examining the terra. The tar-black bru had only lived in this large town for about a week. A few other canines were met, and weren't the brightest of the lot. Thats why he assumed they came to NY. Oh, the Belgian wasn't coming to stay, he was taking a quick short-cut to another town. Maybe even another state. But wasn't that always his excuse?
Black Moon began to lay on the ground, but was shaken up by the honking of monster-horns and squeeling of rubber on the concrete. A stupid bitch was crossing the road, almost unawares to the dangers the monsters would cause. "Do they never learn?" His voice growled, dripping in annoyance.
The bru hadn't noticed the other dog on the opposite side he was on, until most all the cars came to a halt. A poor creature, thin, malnourished, and lanky looked annoyed himself. "What an opportunity." The black prince told himself. "Why don't we meet new people, eh?"
Taking advantage of the break on the bridge, Black Moon pulled himself up onto the street. A few metal monsters were smoking at the front, others had the humans piling out of them, screaming at the black brute as he crossed confidently. "You," he addressed the bitch first. "Whats in your head? Do you wish to die painfully?"
Black Moon scoffed, and strode over to the pair of dogs. "Or are you playing some sort of childish game?" His booming voice echoed, bouncing off the automobiles. His ocean-blue orbs searched the eyes of both dogs, hoping to gain some information. Depending on their personatlity, he would either make friends tonight, or enemies.

Ebony rolled her pretty brown eyes looking at them both, shed been on the streets for a year now and she always crossed roads that way, cars stopped if you waited for the right moment to give them enough time to see you they swerve into other cars ands top them too,
"im alive so i cant be that stupid, i knwo the righ ttime to cross a road and i think i ddi quite a good job, hey it made it easier for you to cross didint it?"
she looked at both of them she noticed sobeks look too and didint felel now that he had wanted to cross, maybe she black brute hadnt either, but she didint care, she was a nbice bitch with a calm temperment but her only aim was to have a family life not with humans but a canine family and in her whole year she ahdnt found that yet,
"besides dieing is probably more exciting than sitting here answering questions about my sanity"
she was witty and perhaps annoying to this brute but she didint mind.

The sight hound was surprised by another brute coming up behind him, crossing the street in the collie's wake. There were two strangers now and Sobek suddenly felt trapped, like they were going to jump him or something. There was no real reason for him to think like that, he was simply skittish. His brothers use to do it all the time and the other dogs in the village had done it as well, back in his home in Africa. The scars, blemishes and ruffled fur that covered his lower back and rear were proof of that. Turning so that his back was to the water, the hound's disposition changed from a little ticked to its usual skittish, upset, and partially self-absorbed state, tall pointed ears falling in a sign of immediate submission.
"Yeah... I bet it is..."
Turning his silver glance elsewhere, the hound searched for something, some way. He didn't really want to jump off the bridge. It was too painful and slow. Sure, he wanted to die more than anything, but not like that. Pain was a big no no in his book. Call him a wuss all you wish, he'd probably agree with you. So, with traffic stopped here and jump out of the question, that left the male with very few options. He could go find another spot with some traffic...

Black Moon watched the fae intently. She was so sassy, it was almost boring him to listen to her. "Hey, it made it easier for you to cross, didn't it?" The voice sounded whiney to the Belgian. In his usual deep voice, the black prince spoke. "I wasn't planning on crossing. Quite frankly, I had hoped to watch you get smothered."
The bitch was annoying, and twas time to focus on this hound. Black Moon had seen a few of his bloodline elsewhere in his travels, and they were always fickle and rude. Hopefully this one was different.
And right he was. The Belgian observed the liver and white hound as his ears limped in submission. His tail hung low, not wagging even in the slightest way, and his face was downcast. In reply to the bitch's question, the hound answered "Yeah... I bet it is."
Black Moon tilted his head to the right. The other brute had obviously wished to die that crisp afternoon, and the collie had interupted his lovely suicide. No, the black prince thought to himself. Dogs aren't meant to live in this stupid city.
Well, normally Black Moon wouldn't interfear with suicide and fights, but there was something about this houndy bru that almost pulled the Belgian into him. "You," The large black dog nodded his head toward the hound. "I was going to head over for a swim. Just under the bridge is a tiny pool. Its very shallow and nice on a day like this, and I was hoping you would join me." He turned his body to face the collie. "If you promise to keep your trap shut, you can come to." True, Black Moon was always sarcastic and didn't appeal to sassy faes, but he wasn't disrespectful towards them.[/color]

The hound was more than slightly surprised by the shepherd's invitation. He had never been invited anywhere except to his grave, where he had intended to go a few moments ago. As such, he had no idea how to respond. His judgment told him not to go, that these creatures could not be trusted but his rational mind reminded him that he had nothing else to do. He had made no plans for the day except to run into traffic, and that had failed. Shifting nervously, the Ibizan hound glanced around skittishly before nodding...
"Um... okay...."
