Well sometimes there is no need for long posts. One thing to do is just post what the do is thinking. Like if she just meet a another dog. Tell what she thinks about him or her. Does she, see the dog as a small dog or a large dog. Does she think the dog is cute or handsome? does she think the dog looks strong? Just add little details that help us get a better visual, and a good feel about what your dog is seeing. -Also wait for Disturbed. Disturbed will help ya out better than I can! -

Thanks, that helps a lot. I have a friend that can turn a simple "Hi" into 3 paragraphs. She never types less than three long paragraphs, I wish we were still friends than maybe should could teach me.

Okay, there's a very easy way to make long posts: Don't be afraid to go off topic.
Example: Your dog confronts another larger dog right? Don't be afraid to mention the last time your character interacted with another dog of similar size. Go ahead and tell us what happened then and how it effects your character at this particular moment, even if this was never really rped out. Just make it up.
Also, try to be very descriptive of the environment. Tell us where the sun is, whether it's setting or rising or in the middle of the sky blazing down upon the land with all it's unparalleled might. Not only that, but tell us what your character thinks of their environment, why they're there and possibly how badly they wish to leave. As I said before, don't be skittish about going off on a tangent. Really, rping is a giant tangent in itself.
A very useful thing to do in a post is describe your character to the most specific degree possible. What do their ears look like? How are they held? What about their tails? Their eyes? Are they weak or strong? Bulky or scrawny? When doing this, try to use elaborate adjectives (Word or another type of thesaurus can help you with that) so that we get an accurate representation of your character. Like, let's look at my charrie Sobek. If I said he was a skinny, dirty looking dog, you'd think of him as a slob or something. But if I called him malnourished with an unkempt pelt, you'd think more of a sad neglected animal...
Tell us everything that your character is doing, why they're doing it and what outcome it has on other things around it. Tail wagging is a good example. Why is the tail wagging? What does it resemble while doing it, a whip or a flag or something else? That sort of thing. Mention briefly any thoughts of past traumas, missing family or lost mates. often adding an outside party, like a random human on the street or a cat or rat makes things a bit easier as you can describe what your character is doing to that party.
Now, there's a lot more you could put in a post but I think I've said enough. Just one thing to remember: you don't have to put all of this stuff into one single post. then, you'll have nothing to put in the following posts so put in what you wish and leave some stuff out. Make it fun for the other player by making your character think about something but not truly explaining what or why. Make them curious... And don't be afraid to ask me questions. I love to help out! ^^
