Bridget trugged her way into these new lands. She hadnt made it far away from home. Yet this was fine. She would make her new life here. It wouldnt be much to live off of but if it ment, her family being safe it would be worth it. Bridget let out a howl of pain. For she worried about her mother. Would her mother survive? Or would she not pull through?

Magnum was snoozing softly on the ridge, the gleaming afternoon sun reflecting off of the white fur on his belly as he lay on his back. A soft snoring rose from his muzzle, his jaws open lazily and his tongue hanging out. Such bliss was this afternoon nap... that was until he felt something, or someone, stumble over him. though normally a heavy sleeper, the malamute didn't usually sleep in the afternoon and the stranger was enough to wake him up. Groaning, he rolled over lazily, getting into a more substanctial laying position and looking at the fae curiously...

Bridget looked to the brute she nodded to him and quitly said "Sorry" she then laid down and coverd her eyes with her paws and mutterd "Just leave me here to die. Im not worth saving. Im worthless to this world." she then let out wails and sobs, for she was deeply depressed

Magnum was taken aback by the female's sudden wailing and sobbing. Crawling closer to her, the malamute pulled up along side the stranger, deep concern upon his face.
"Woah. Hey now, sheela. Calm it down a smidge there... It didn't hurt or nothin' and it wasn't like I was havin' a good dream or anythin'. Trus' me, everythin's fine..."

Bridget uncoverd her eyes and said "No,no, everything wont be find. I've done something terrible. I've...I've" she couldnt say it. For she wasnt sure, did the pup even survive? she then let out a really soft whisper and said "For I've killed a pup"

Still as cheerful as he always was, the malmute nudged the female gently with his nose.
"Well I don' believe dat for a secon', a nice sheela like yourself.... but, even so, killin' a little one is nothin to end your life 'bout, sheela. I mean, hell, i've done far worse than that but I'm still here. Jus' gotta get up an' move on, you know?"
That wasn't exactly what he had meant to say but it was close enough...

Bridget listend to him as she tried to wipe her sorrow away. She then said in a tearful voice "You, You dont understand. Its not as simple as that. I've recked my life. I almost killed my sister. Then I killed a pup. Now my mother is dying. I dont deserve to live. I would die for them, but I am no help for them, for I only bring sadness, and misery to them. Im not worth the trouble" She said as she looked the brute in the eyes

Still staring gently, the malamute gave her a very knowing look.
"Nonsense sheela. Every minute o' your existance at some point o' 'nother gave 'em happiness. I'm sure they've got some good memories of you an' that's what counts. you give 'em somethin' ta think about, somethin' to reflect upon. When we ignore our memories, we ignore ourselves and the ones we hold dear. You make 'em who they are and love who they are..."
Pausing to think a little, the brute wasn't exactly sure what else to say. He didn't really know enough about her to make her feel too much better but he was trying.
"Listen... Everybody's worth it. No matter how low in life you may think you are, you are always worth somethin'. Hell, if I am, you are..."

Bridget looked to him and turned her head to the side and said "So whats your story?"
As Bridget waited for a reply she thought about what he said, but no matter how hard she had tried, she couldnt think of any memories in which her family would WANT to remeber. For she had been in a blood battle with her sister. Her Brother told her that he hated her. For she new that hate was a strong word, and could be miss used, but that didnt matter. Her whole famly hated her ..."But wait" she thought. Black Jack never gave a reaction to me. Maybe he still cares for me. Spearmint,Rosemary,Thyme,Harley,Zeus, and Desiree may hate me, but Black Jack doesnt. Her father might stil care for her. Her dad might still love his hated pup.
Yet as Bridget listed the many names of the dogs who hated her. It brought her sprit back down. Even if one dog still loved her, the hates were out numberd and of to many. Bridget let out a sigh, as she returned her attention the dog beside her, for she couldnt help but admire how handsome he was.

"Me story?"
The malamute seemed to freeze at that moment. His story... more like the horror movie that was his pathetic existance. A tale untold. It had taken him so long to tell Feli about his history, how the hell was he gonna tell this female whose name he didn;t even know. Looking away sadly, the malamute sighed, trying not to think about it so much. thinking made the voices come out...
"Well... I used ta be a sled dog in the mountains. used to sled with me brother and me mom and dad. Loved every minute of it all..."
He smiled, looking up at the sky for a moment before letting the grin fall from his muzzle...
"But den the day came, an' I wasn't who i used to be. I killed so many... everyone died. me mom, me dad, me brothers an' sisters. Whole stinkin' village wiped out. Not jus' that one either. I've erased many in me time... and I can't remember a damn one..."
Sighing again, the brute paused to shake himself briskly, trying to focus his mind on other things so the voices didn't come back...
"I'm jus' not who I wanna be sheela, who I should be... at least, not all the time..."

Bridget perked up. Even though this dogs story was to a sad one. She had found someone who could understand how she felt. She didnt want this dog to know his story brought life back into her, for he might think her of a freak. She then said "Thank-you ..." she dropped off for she new not his name she then said "Thank-you, ugh Sir. Sorry for I dont know your name...by the way Im called Bridget" She then looked away from him.
This dog. He could understand her pain, for he had once lived through it. Yes maybe his was more tragic, but yet he could still understand her pain. She then added to him and said "Thank you for teling me your story"

The malamute manage to forge a smile upon his face, though it looked kinda fake. He was usually good at smiling, but the little event from the night before had kinda downsized that. No matter. A little conversation with this female would do him good. He nodded understandingly...
"Bridget... Well, you ar' quite welcome Bridget. Me name's Magnum. Mag if ya' really must shortin' it."
Still keeping the smile on his muzzle, the sled dog looked out over the ridge, out across the water to the city beyon. What a sight it was from up here... But he turned back to his friend when she spoke again.
"Well, t'ank you for list'nin'..."

Bridget watched at how he looked around at the scenery. She didnt really care foinr the scenery, for she had found this brute. He was quite handsome, and he had shared the life she had. (even though his was more tragic)
Bridget was no longer crying. She let out a small "your welcome...Magnum" She then looked off to the side. She new something else was bothering him. Like there was something he wasnt telling her. But what was it? There was just something strange about the whole situation. Yet she couldnt figure it out. She wanted to know, yet she wasnt sure if she should ask him. For what if he grew angry at her, and then was like the others ... hated her. Yet what if he wasnt? What if he would glady tell her, to get it off his chest. Maybe he would love her for it? Or maybe he wouldnt?
The risk was to high. She chose not to ask. For at this point she couldnt take it if another dog was out there, that hated her ... she then looked to him and said "So what do you do around here? I mean what do you do for fun?"

Still looking off into space mindlessly, there was an awkward silence between the pair. No, not awkward, just heavy... sudden. It felt fine, like they each were thinking about something important, thinking about each other. Though Magnum had already met a nice fae the day before, he had a special connection with this Bridget, a connection he couldn't place. She was more thoughtful, kinder than the border collie from the other day. He liked that...
Glancing back toward her curiously, the malamute thought for a moment, his gaze rolling up to the sky...
"Fo' fun? Hmm... Well, I like goin' for long walks, explorin' an' such... an' I like ta eat. Food is my fav'rit thing, bacon especially...."
He paused to laugh a little before continuing.
"Bu' mostly, i jus' wander a'round, look fo' pretty girl's ta talk to..."

"Oh" She said. For she was confused. Was he saying that as a compliment? Or was he just telling the truth? That he went around looking for pretty fea's to talk to? No matter, she was just flatterd.
She looked to him and said "Eatting isnt one of my favorites. Yet when I do find the time to eat, its lovely" she ducked her head away and said "Yet, I've never tried this 'Bacon' you speak of"
She looked around for awhile, then she turned back to him. She tried to look deep within him. This is one of the Things harley had tought her. Yet bridget never could master it. Harley was just perfect at it, she could use this method and read any dog, just as if they were a book! She shook the thought away of Harley and thought only about the dog infront of her. She couldnt go back to that life, maybe, just maybe a new life would start here ...
